A Clerk's Lament

A Clerk's Lament to the question “nine percent sales tax?”
“I'm just 22 and I simply don't care.
What's the point?
I cannot change anything and going nowhere.”

“That'll be one hundred and twenty-three, with change.”
The lessons taught by a Socialist is the individual's voice is lost to the masses,
that inflation comes like an economic abortion when everyone plays now,
and that the only prevailing message is dictated by a fascist.

Credit of what was taught by a clerk from the parts department of an auto dealership in Sonoma County, California. She hates her own generation.

Why is this... and who poisoned the well?

I know who tainted the well water but the woke are not truly awake to see it. Very sad state our world is in and history keeps repeating with its lessons going unlearned. I feel sad for the young generation. I think things must seem so hopeless to them

In essence, the poem invites readers to contemplate the impact of societal structures on individual perspectives and highlights the challenges faced by the younger generation in navigating a world that appears to be tainted. The final question, "Why is this... and who poisoned the well?" prompts a deeper exploration of the forces at play and the sources of disillusionment within contemporary society...
