A Circus Clown

A Circus Clown Story/poem

Once there was a circus clown. He lived to make the people happy.
Everyday he would dress up, paint his face to be ready for his show.
This clown was not like other clowns. He was very special. Every time he
put on a show - he had a little toy clown with him.

While he put on the show - he made everybody laugh, but once in a while
he would see someone sad. Later he would go and talk to the person.
He would offer to help them and give them the toy clown, but when they met
their goals, they would always leave the little toy clown behind. He would pick it
up again and that made him very sad.

One day he saw a young man that was very sad, he went and asked him
what was wrong.? The young man told him - I can'y succeed in life. The clown
told him I will help you. Take this little clown and keep him, your life will change.
Soon one day he saw the young man again. He told him - I can't believe it, I am
now very successful just as you said . He walked away without a thank you, leaving
the little clown behind. The clown very sad picked it up and went home.

Another day he was putting on a show, when he saw a young girl very sad and
crying. He went to her and asked what was wrong, why was she crying like that?
She said - I always wanted to be an actress and be famous, but they never pick me.
The clown told her - don't cry no more take this little clown and keep him. I am going
to help you. In a couple of months, people started to know about her. She became
quiet famous. One day she was nominated for an award.

The day of the event a lot of famous people went and also crowds from the public.
The circus clown was there too. As she got her award - everybody applauded, so did the clown. She was very happy and came down and thank the people, but she passed up the clown. When everyone was gone, he saw the little toy clown on the floor. With
tears in his eyes he picked it up. He started walking and felt his chest burst open. His heart poped out - He than saw it fall to the floor and break into many pieces. With tears
still rolling down his face, he knelt down, picked up the pieces, put them together and
put it back in his chest and walked away to find other people to help...

Note: The moral of this story is that he had a big heart.
Even though his heart was broken he still wanted to help
people..... Do you have a big heart?

Hi Lucilla: Great Write! I can really relate. The clown deeply wanted to help people with his metaphoric gift but received no recognition. He was one of many unsung heroes .Please read my Ode to an unsung hero

Whoa Lucilla! This is an excellent write - great message. The circus clown shows us the true meaning of helping people unconditionally, without expecting anything in return. His never-give-up-on-your-quest attitude is a good lesson to keep close to the heart. Very well penned.

Thanks for liking my poem Vicky. We should never expect nothing in return when we help some one. Helping some one should come from the heart. I will visit your page later... Lucilla
