A Christmas Gift For You

Dedicated to Ann Gunapalan, my counsellor.

I have a gift for you
A gift that's wrapped in blue
Within it, is a clue
Of what I have for you

This gift flows from my mind
It has a simple rhyme
Within it, you will find
Some thoughts I have in mind

I thank my Lord for you
For how you've seen me through
The cold and winter blue
My heart thanks God for you

God’s brought you here to me
Your counsel helped me see
In great adversity
You have been there for me

I have a gift for you:
Words from a heart that's true
A heart that’s wrapped in blue
May God's love be with you

I've noticed that all of your poems are listed as Rhyme, if I may suggest, check the forms tab at the top of the page and read through some. See if any interest you and try them out. Some can be fun such as Acrostics, Quatrains and one I like. Etherees. They will give new dimension to your poems and help you expand your knowledge as a poet. Also, if you write for a contest it can help you get your poems read, and read, read other poets' work. It will help you learn.

She is actually the counsellor in my church. She very kindly counsels church member for free although she is working as a full-time therapist in a therapy centre.
