Notes About The Poem

chink

Listen to poem:

A chink started it

One tipple too far,
barely enough to notice
made the first tile sound—
morning lost its clean edges
as choices became fuzzy.

The path did not break,
it merely curved a little
toward softer ground—
resolve missed a few heartbeats
dominoes fell step by step.

By dusk the tale unfolded,
not a great calamity—
a trail of slip-ups
from loose threads left ungathered
that slowly unstitched the day.

Again a thought provoking poem enhanced by the vocal interpretation. I enjoyed this John.

I hate it when that happens and oh boy howdy, does it happen. What a splendid, creative and enthralling analogy. A talented put together (I've never used 'put together' before but it works.) CayCay

Thanks very much. Keeping the resolve is surprisingly difficult.

The repercussions of sleeping 5 minutes more than we should have can affect our whole day. I've had it happen so many times. I enjoyed reading it . Way to go. Sara K.
