A Child's Voice

A child’s voice is never heard
It’s as though they never speak a word
Forever they sit nonexistent
“They” are us in every moment
We are told to speak out
But we ask “what about”
Sitting silently, told not to make a sound
Yet life keeps moving round and around
When will we cease to experience all these pains?
When will you release us from these cold hard chains?
A child’s voice is never heard
It’s as though we never speak a word
