A Childs Point of View

Why do people smoke tobacco, is it good for you, Cowboys have tobacco that they sit and chew, They look so very grown up, sending smoke into the air. It does not really smell nice, but they don`t seem to care. I wonder why they shout at me when I say can I try, No way! can you smoke, it will make you die. Grown ups are odd, as they say we are only looking after you. So WHY do they smoke? IS it good for you?

Hello Skat, thanks for the welcome. I am from England. Age 67. I am a voluntary administrator for a quit smoking site. I became involved with the site in 2011.as i decided to quit smoking . I stopped smoking almost straight away when I joined the site for support. Since then I have helped run the site and helped many more people stop smoking. I found myself making up small poems about smoking etc. I found this helped people take notice of what I was saying, usually in a humorous way. Jill.xxx

It's a powerful thought and message. Why smoke, it's not even good for us... a perfect thought to pin. This should be written on every box carton ... Keep kool... Linda

Thank you for your comments. I am not a serious poetry writer, however I do tend to come up with poems about people and their situations. I am an administrator for a quit smoking site. I find writing poems gets peoples attention and a bit of light heartedness helps. Jilly.
