A Child's Light
A child's light,
Is the purest form of innocence.
Love,
In it's greatest capacity.
They shine so fiercely,
We are often blinded.
Confused by a freedom,
By a brightness we can't remember.
Or life experience has taught us not to trust.
So we put them in boxes to contain them.
To make them fit.
The world,
Will try and snuff them out soon enough.
As a mother,
It is my job to protect that light,
To nurture it,
However that may be.
Long enough,
So they can remember it themselves.
Humanity,
Starts with a child's light.
