A Child's Honesty

“A CHILD’S HONESTY”

today I sat and typed
out a few poems.
today they came as
naturally as a lie
comes from a female’s
mouth.
today I had my son and
the two little girls.
as I typed and they
watched television,
my phone rang.
the ringtone was clear:
BULLSHITTER ALERT!
BULLSHITTER ALERT!
the oldest of the two
girls smiled at me.
“Eddie, it’s mine and
my sister’s mom.”
