A Child's Death

So still in that night, 
A newborn slept quietly,
In her mother’s bed.

In that dark stillness, 
The infant suffocates.
She is gone. 

After that
this poem for her.
For her memory leaves....
a lasting impression.
of that night, that darkness,
that nightmare of stillness,

At time, in trying to be too affectionate we may cause some accidental harm to infants. It's always wise to use crib from the first day. Terrible, such accident! :)Sunita

You could have been writing this about my gorgeous niece Olivia. So sad when little ones leave this world so soon. Blessings to you.

Yes,the hasty departure of an infant is definitely horrendous ! Please read your sublime poem for him loudly enough so he could hear,maybe! Thanks heaps James Ranahan for sharing !

So sad, infants are so fragile and dependent on someone who is responsible. Gone too soon when death comes in this way.
