A Childhood Letter

My darling Selene,
Apparently what I feel for you isn't real
My Ma says I’m too young to know what love is
My Pa said it's our hormones that make us kiss everytime we meet.
He said we'll be sick of each other by the time we turn thirteen
I beg to differ though,
In all my life,
I have seen my parents kiss less times than we did last week
When we are wed I will cherish you every single day
And we will never fight or yell like my parents do when they think I'm asleep.

If your Pa allows you,
Meet me by the peach tree on Jameson and Rochfort Street on Monday at noon
We've been going steady for two weeks, I was hoping we'd commemorate that with a kiss.
Yours truly
Rian
