A Cherished Desire

Put me in the corner
See how long I stand
I will not be a mourner
I know I'm meant for
something grand

The stars above me
They speak to my soul
Shining with glee
Leading me to my goal

As I get confused in society's
values
I grasp onto the things that
feel true
Looking for a clue in all these
issues
The key to a meaningful world
view

I know I am but only one
person
Never can I be completely
perfect
But I refuse to worsen
Or to lose my self respect.

To reach the answer is not
easy
It takes a lot a scars and
bruises
At times it's a fair bit wheezy
I cannot fall back on excuses

With all the trials and
tribulations
I become more reasserted
A cherished desire of
aspirations
With sorrows being averted

I reach out to you my friend
Letting go of my petty woes
To help you grow and see you
ascend
It's how we must transpose
