A Changing Script

He would love to wake up each day And play along life’s merry way. But as he wakes up from the dead And rolls on out of his bed. He heads off to work instead. She was often heard to say, She’d rather go to work than play. So, with this notion in her head She rolled on over in her bed And thanked the lord for the man she wed. The preceding lines a day in time. When you stay together for a lifetime, The pronouns oft get turned on a dime.
