A Change of Plan

My father said to me: “Hey Bob, what’s with you today? You’ve been very quiet; you haven’t had much to say!” I thought my time had come at last to tell them the news. It just seemed hard now with me shaking inside my shoes! I said: “Everyone, I just found a nice girl for me, I’m sure you’ll all love her, she’s as sweet as she can be.” They all applauded and didn’t let me finish here. I said: “There’s a little more to this story, I fear I don’t have much time left so this is what I will say, It’s important that I marry this girl right away!” Dad said: “Wait a minute son, you’re talking like a fool! You haven’t finished college yet and then there’s law school!” I said: “Dad, there’s this left and I hope you don’t go wild. She’s spent the last five months as the mother of my child."
