A Change of Heart
Falling raindrops like big tears
Pounding slaps upon the street
Getting stepped on by rushed feet
Screamed to me as if in fear.
Begged the raindrops please do bear
Their crash a little longer
Soon it would all be over
When people find some shelter.
Slowed down my footsteps somewhat
Their clash now changed to claps
Though getting wetter, a flash
Of a smile I gave them back.
All the while upon the ground
Puddles quite large spread about
No longer clapping, they laughed
As they watched me jumped about.
And while I was getting quite drenched
I began to clap and prance
For my heart has found a chance
To break free from dread and dance.
