A Chandelier of Stars

A dying sun silently sinks from sight
as misty clouds morph into a pink shroud.
Shadows and silhouettes are still allowed,
though indiscernible in the starlight.
And beams of liquid gold pool in the night,
where moonbeams peek through thick layers of cloud.
And the chirping sounds of crickets grow loud
until they are hushed by the moon's soft light.
Strolling under a chandelier of stars,
Luna embodies elegance and grace;
a wizened sprite smiling down from above.
And lovers try to catch moonbeams in jars
as fantasies and wishes interlace;
fueled by feelings of falling in love.
