A Camo Christmas

I made a Christmas tree today, a little work of art not like the trees we have at home but it is special to my heart. The decorations are a bit different, not the kind we buy each year I try the best I can to keep the Christmas cheer. Letters, cards, and pictures, they cover a makeshift tree I cut out a paper star I wish that you could see. When I lay down for bed, I wish for a silent night but I hear the mortar rounds taking off in flight. When it is my turn to guard, and others take a rest I think about those at home and how I feel so blessed. This time of year, is lonely, my heart feels a little blue but I am doing what is asked of me and to my Country I am true. So, I will dust off these old boots, get up to fight each day to protect the rights to celebrate every Christmas holiday. Just know that I am thinking of you, even though I am over here I am helping my brothers and sister in arms Spread some Camo Christmas Cheer.
