A Butterfly Flittering About In Vienna Should Ever Fly
A VIENESE BUTTERFLY SHOULD NEVER DIE
I am without anything now that I’m not with you
And Lord knows I miss the taste of your smile
I miss a perfectly designed dream come true
Because you made mounting a mountain seem a mild mile
You gave me butterflies and lightning bugs as a gift
Because of you the morning wasn’t agony anymore
It didn’t matter if I worked in the day or the midnight shift
When I returned you would be there with a smile at our door
Ain’t nobody’s business how deeply we loved one another
But they could could tell in our eyes and the way we held hands
Ain’t nobody’s business how I loved you, not even my brother
While I kissed you under the elm tree in the peaceful place it now stands
When you used to approach me it would make my heart race
Now that I’m without you I want to know exactly why
and now that i'm without your emphatic embrace
You know from whence comes my woeful wish to die
