A busman’s holiday
My husband introduced me to this term today
I had never heard of it
Checked it up in the dictionary
Because he is a fast thinker with the kind of mind
That instantly makes up stuff with a definition,
And the correct pronunciation.
I learned early on to check his facts
Because of his fast-thinking make-it-up-quickly-kind-of-mind.
Yes, it is true. I have the day off, and I will use it as a busman’s holiday.
It is a disease. It means you do what you do, even on your day off.
A grocer will visit other stores. An escape artist will go watch another’s show.
I am heading to school, to listen to the teachers, for listening is what I do.
