She had dreaded these moments Long before they came around Moments of grief and despair With whispers of disillusionment Thrown in there for a peppering Of confusion and trepidation Feelings that felt so very forbidden He walked away from her love Without even saying goodbye to her Leaving her with only the loss Of these sweet moments that Penetrated her imagination with Joy from being a part of his world The girl who he’d chosen to love She missed him like imagination Wouldn’t possibly comprehend of Her heart longed for him with a Suffering that grasped for hope The way music longs for the note That welcomes it into harmony With an inspiration of pure love Desperate and defeated, she had Retreated into herself, deep inside The desperation and sensitive place Where discouragement grew stronger And her heart felt lost in the hole Where anger and bitterness took Hold of her spirit and hung on It would be many years before Hostility and resentment moved on Leaving her heart with only remorse For the years she’d spent wanting More, more than she had within her Where lived the faith in God’s Son The answer to her animosity and angst Faith freed her spirit from the grasp Of desperation and disenchantment Memories of a past that slowly grew To make her realize she had it within Her heart, all the love that she sought And should have been giving to others As the Holy Spirit had given to her Healed, she was wiser than before Alive inside where she could go To discover the answers to her hurt And the comfort for worries dissolved By the love that was like no other Love that came from God’s Son And helped her to heal from all pain Faith Healer Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Kai Michael Neumann November 29, 2020

Very nice poem, well expressed, about a difficult period renewed to find a better life! I, like many, have been right there suffering and rebuilding and healing. As it's been said, "bad things happen to good people". Perhaps, that's what leads the way we search to be better person!
