A Broken Family With a Broken Heart

I'm here...
wishing I had you in my life...
again.

You were my father...
my daddy....
the one I looked up to.

But you lost my respect...
that day....
the day you left....
to never return.

Divorce...
I never knew the term
when I was a littl'un,
but it had become my life.
I was living it... and didn't know it.

My parents... divorced.
When you left,
my family was torn apart.
Anger filled all our hearts...
and you caused it.

You broke my heart.
I loved you.
I trusted you.
I was the only one of your four children
that respected you...
even after you left...

But after six years
with no father-figure,
I've grown into a bitter-hearted man.

Living life with a broken heart.
