A Brief Encounter

While basking in the sun at Sarasota Bay A couple approached Cathie and me Nicest two people you'll ever want to meet Welcomed us to the land of the free They were from the town of Elmira, NY A couple of miles south of the border A small world when you really think about it Us guys are one and two in that order Sadly we didn't even catch their names No matter, we were really impressed Two of the warmest most charming individuals As they welcomed their Canadian guests We really wish we could meet them again It proves I'm right on with my belief There's a bunch of nice people wherever you go But our encounter was far too brief © Jack Ellison 2013

As below I know they are thinking the same about you...and it is after all a small world..you could run into them anywhere! This has happened to more than once at the oddest places!

A small world indeed and getting smaller! How about here on Poetry Soup! It's filled with a bunch of the sweetest people including of course, Donna Jones at the top of the list! Love and hugs, Jack xox

You will certainly be first on my list to receive one! However, it is a very competitive market so I'm in for a fight to convince a publisher to consider mine. Self-publishing is definitely out of the question... got burned going that route a few years ago! Big hugs, Jack xoxoxox

I know how that goes my friend! It seems the nicer the people you meet are the less time you get to spend with them! I'm sure they thought the same of you two! Because you are one of the nicest people I've met, even offline! This poem is very spectacular and shows some great compassion! What an ingenious piece my friend! Excellent Work!!

That's what I thought all long, Jack that people are good at heart; they just let situations overcome them at times and be out of their environment! Lol. I am sitting here on the hospital bed getting ready for surgery and surfing the Soup on my phone. In a few hours, I will be without my gallbladder, lol. Yey, welcome to a new world of no fat diet. I am looking forward to it. Talk to you later!
