A Brief Candle

A small flame flickers, it casts a wavering light on a silent room

Moments of sudden glare as it burns bright then returns to a glow

Caught by breeze it waves side to side like a hula dance

Or softly stills, a cone of heat, orange, focused

I sit in peace and watch it’s play

This little warm mirror, inside I can see my reflected self

A private tiny fire, it feels good to do this sometimes

To choose a view on my memories, contemplate

And then it is extinguished, gone

Takes my thoughts, a loss at first then a grateful sense

How much I saw in this brief candle flame

Hello Graham Bentley, the light of the flame of the candle burning brightly. Show different colors when you watch it change from orange to blue. Enjoy your day my friend.
