A Breath of Farewell
A breath of farewell escapes with a sigh
A cloudless night, a moon for good bye
I claim reflections in a tearful eye
Memoirs of home against the sky
The twinkle of starlight, hypnotic in flow
Captures my gaze as I turn to go
Leaving the life and all that I know
For fortunes uncharted, cloaked in shadow
And though I now leave, I pray that each star
Which glimmers in silent hope from afar
Will guide my safe travels wherever they are
With spirits of sorrow, no more to spar
