A Breath Away
A breath away
The wind blew leaves by my window,
Scattered all over the soggy ground.
Cold rain quietly fell upon them,
Bare trees stood without a sound.
The dark skies and gray mountains
Make it difficult for one to think.
It feels like grief is hovering,
To spill the tears with a wink.
The heart has had enough of this.
Dark sky reminders of those I miss.
I sit, I reach, for the bright sunshine
That wrapped around me the other day.
Hidden in the layers of memories
To choose for the mind to play.
Feeling the warmth, the touch of your hand.
Is only a breath away from me, I stand.
To do what you know I can do best.
Move forward in light of the rest.
