A Blade of Grass

A blade of grass so thin, yet strong, Bends like the willow tree in the wind. Strength to endure the seasons, Storms, rains, and the sunshine.   The earth is so forgiving, So gentle and yet so surviving. It balances the elements of the seasons, Nourishing the soils regeneration.   Bouncing back to life each spring, To generate the year's growth and blooms. It fortifies itself to produce bountiful, Fruits and vegetables to feed all.   From the earth and its generous nutrition, It promotes growth of all the living, While fortifying itself, To regenerate again and again.   We, like the earth, Take from its renewal, The wisdom to fortify and revitalize, Ourselves and nature's bounty to endure.   Reward ourselves year after year, Consuming its amplitude, Giving new life to care for the earth, Converting her bounty in our own.   Without the air nature produces, Or the greenery that surrounds us, Our lives would not exist, And the future of earth would not subsist.
