Notes About The Poem

A Black Cat Spotting

as black cat
     slowly creeps past
          dimly
               lit alleyway,
                    superstitious boy
                         stops dead in
                              his tracks.

bad omen?
     sense of
          dread grips him.
               he's thinking...
                   "should I walk right through
                          or take a different route?"
                                he...

chooses the latter.

"chooses the latter" - Many of us in India do this. Beautifully written. The form, Yalto, is new for me. Thank you for introducing. Congratulations!

Marvelous writing, Edward, in a form you invented. I still need to try it. I liked this take on the contest, too. Best of luck.

You always shine in your form, Edward. If that makes them feel better, why not detour!
