A Birds Eye View

Millions of eyes look down What do they make of us Scurrying like ants Going about their day People going to work While smaller people play Metal carts on blackened tracks Floating shapes on their back Metal birds fly overhead Their roaring engines we all dread Greened fields like 3 D Shapes Clouds below like earthly drapes Fauna, shrubs trees we perch We congregate like natures church Us winged marvels, as we soar the skies Swooping down, millions of eyes Look above is all we cruise As we look down A Birds Eye View

Loved your view of the land from a bird's perspective. Enjoyed the birds' naive descriptions of our transport ~ Sharon :)

Wow, James! When I fly in my dreams, I have a "Bird's Eye View" of everything below. You describe this unique perspective so well! Is it possible we have out-of-body experiences and meet as souls in our dreams? That would explain many things, my beloved Highlander!

A great write, rminded me of a friend of mine saying that he didn't want to be a bird because he might get ate by a cat... LOL He said, "It is great just being me!" He had an intresting point and a great sense of humor. Your writing is so lovely and the visuals are amazing. Thank you for the reminder of my friend and for allowing me to share...LOL Congratulations on being featured this week. Smiles from Lolita

James, Did you ever want to fly when you were a child? I mean without a plane or drugs... lol I forgot flying means so many different things these days. Your poem reminded me of the desire and my dreams about flying. Fun. Thanks for writing it and sharing. Congratulations on having your poem featured this week. Love, Dane
