A Bigger Boy

She loved him more than anything else She devoted her life to him, faithful as can be She saw a lot of wrongs, sometimes she chose to be quiet She hoped and prayed for a change in her man's life He drank alcohol like there was no tomorrow He couldn't control his wandering eyes from the many pretty women around He had no breaks, lived for the present He barely noticed the love that she had for him He had no respect for the one woman who stood by him through thick and thin Now he says he has changed Now he says, "honey, am not in my twenties anymore" Now he says, "I love you more than anything else and I will never hurt you again" Now he shows progress, he is a bigger boy, taking care of his family, taking care of his woman Maybe this is the part where I quote my mother "Sometimes when men are young, they are reckless They do a lot of things that can destroy the marriage The woman has to be the pillar of the family, She has to stay strong, stay patient and fight for what she loves"
