A Better Man
Dancing there in the eastern sky
Where the joy and dreams of my future lie
Shine the rays of a sun which bring’s new hope into my life
With warming glow that fills my heart
Comes gift of another day to start
And I see the truth - that I’m among the lucky ones
There are times in my day when I may lose sight
My joy fades as to the dark of night
And I think perhaps my dreams have passed me by
But with the dawn of each new day
I find once more a chance to pray
“Dear lord let me live each moment as if it were my last”
“Let me set aside my foolish pride
And with day’s end be pleased I tried
To give my best in everything I do”
I shall lay at night in peaceful rest
With joyful heart that I passed the test
Of giving my best to become a better man
