A Beautiful Life
Darkness slowly gives way to light
As the sun begins to rise
Frost covered grass and trees
Sway in a gentle breeze
It's cold and not a single thing is stirring
But that will change as it always does
Cars fill the streets bustling
From place to place
The sleepy begin to pepper the sidewalks
On their way to school or work
Nobody seems to realize it's a watershed moment
To see the sun rise yet again
The struggles of getting from one day to the next
Make us forget how precious this moment is
For it is the struggle of these cold mornings
That eventually leads us to warmer days
For now we should enjoy the pale white skies
And the stray snowflakes that fall
Embrace the chill the bites us bone deep
When we share coffee with friends later
Every difficult moment is a gateway to something better
But we have to be strong to push through
And remember darkness slowly gives way to light
As the sun begins to rise
When your eyes open and you rise out of bed tired
Remember it's a beautiful life
