A beautiful June day

Poly wogs in creek
sounds of coyotes howling
in summer breeze
things were peaceful
hair tied in pony knot
sunburnt face and chapped lips
light scratches on legs
from running through
tall blades of grass
yes this is summer

I admit I had to look up poly wogs; even at my age there are still words which have so far eluded my attention, Karen :) Summer is a beautiful season, and your lovely poem takes me back to my childhood days which enriched me with many pleasant memories. ~ Best regards // paul
