Listen to poem:
The eastern gale swept o'er the bay tonight, As rising seas climbed up the sandy beach, It pushed and forced its way beyond the bight, And those who tried to stay, they did beseech, They boarded in and hunkered down so tight, Those need of care got aid if in their reach, The stormy night gave way to calm daylight Some minor damage said in Mayor's speech, No deaths had been reported, shed some light, A wiser lesson learned that storm did teach. 2020 January 07
