A Barren Land

In her dumpster fades away
    posy of love-struck feelings.
I plucked from my heart's garden,
           now a barren land.

Afzal, I love this poem and how you have expressed through metaphor the depth of longing to have love. 7 ; )

Btw ... the metaphor of a barren land in the context of human relationships is mostly heartbreaking emptiness. But in the spiritual context of God ... the wilderness is where our faith keeps us sustained through the droughts in our lives. Wonderful poem. Love and peace, bro.

Your poem says so much in just four lines, Afzal. Many have experienced the sense that their feelings were tossed into a dumpster by an unappreciative mate. Well done!

Such a shame when the love you give to someone just gets thrown away... So much emotion is captured here in just four short lines. Really well written, Afzal!

Thank you, Daniel. Even I prefer long poems but sometimes I like to experiment with short forms.
