A Baby's Smile

New life, so sweet
A baby's smile

The laughter of a newborn child
their sparkling eyes glimmer beautifully,
They have no awareness of what is to come

Be careful little ones
stay in your own imaginary world as long as you can,
for one day the bitterness of the Earth will seep through.
It will take away the light in your eyes,
removing the smile from your lips.
Eventually making its way into your very core,
slowly sucking out the the life inside you

I guess we must let reality slap us in the face at some point,
shaking you awake from your childhood dream
But why now?

Embrace your inner child,
don't judge others,
be happy.

Remember the sweet baby's smile each day you live,
and hope that such tranquility and joy lasts for an eternity.
