9-11 and Fifteen Years

"9-11 AND FIFTEEN YEARS"

9-11, I smoke this cigarette.
a shadow moves in the corner
of my eye.

I look up and a balloon floats
above me.
the wind carries it into a U-turn
and lands directly
within
reach.

I'm not sure why the timing was
perfect but it was.
the balloon kept flying and
found a
destination.

if one truly thinks about it,
the lives lost today let their
souls fly until they reached
their
destination.

God didn't forget about you.
the road traveled was horrible
but you made your way
into
heaven.
