6 Feet Deep
It was hard wood
Perfectly carved for my specifications
Honoured with a layer of
Silky White paint and gold lining
The sealing soils of UT Island
Stood majestically on the edges of my grave
As they humbly sucked the moist
From unstoppable tears
The white collared man smiled
As he held his bible against his chest
It is over now, he said
As he lifted his eyes to the sky
Heaven must clap
He walked backwards
And leaned against the old baobao tree
That marked the boundary of our clan’s land
He silently wiped a tear
The sun was succumbing
To the chills of an early dusk
The sea was rather silent
Gentle waves breezed on wet faces
As they sung my favourite song
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
They laid me low
6 feet deep
