50 Words For Poe: the Dolphin
"50 Words for Poe: The Dolphin"
Like Christmas
all come at once
So too, to the 5th Dimension
a motley crew had arrived
They were all now
One Flew Over the Cuckoo Nest
comfortably ensconced
all behaving like
well-behaved fallen angels -
for once
They had parked themselves at a table
in the belly of
The Dolphin
Land of the Ochre
Here, where life was super chill
beer was super cold
and the barmaids were tanned gold
flirtatious and bold
Here, escape was possible
for those with a higher mind
Long Bay was non-existent
it was a figment of their imagination
they had broken the barriers
of grey rooms with murderers
and tinker bell bears
no locks and keys required
standing on chairs
with corded sheets
for hanging dreams out
to dry and die, he had
walked freely down the stairs
straight out the front gates
and escaped to
Freedom
No keys required
He had escaped his mind
Smashed right through the Veil
into sunlight, chirping birds
singing Buckley from years-gone-by
and as he broke free he
smiled for once, for he now
clearly saw how it all could be
with his life
he clearly saw what was
in front of him and
above him he saw
the Sun and a beautiful
Blue Sky
He smiled for once
In this world
A Temporal Paradox attained
Time suspended on both sides
They were ALL forgiven
Absolved
They were ALL
granted Parlay
Meanwhile,
at The Dolphin,
A Dark and Stormy, she prescribed
Sipping life with the crashing
Ocean outside
Fox watched the door
with the others
and waited for
Lilac Wine and
Mr Hallelujah
to arrive
With God’s Grace
they’d ALL survive this time
and this time he’d abstain
he’d save his face from
index numbers and disgrace
he’d make it to them
where they waited
for him in
The 5th Dimension
a much Higher Place
Where the place of chaos
meets a state of Grace
The Dolphin
Where they were ALL granted
Parlay
Mr Blue Skies was waiting for her in Paris
That was another beautiful story for another fine day ...
