4 am

It’s four in the morning
It’s you I’m waiting for
Are you coming?
I’ve never missed you more

All are having fun
I sit and wait
It is before the sun
I’m wrapped in shame

Is it because I’m drunk
Or you are just too far
It has long gone numb
My foolish loving heart

Now that you’re gone
I know it isn’t you
I won’t pick up my phone
I know it won’t be you

The messages have stopped
The memories remain
On the screen something popped
My heart is full of pain

I wish it to be you
I long for your text
I wish you’d want me too
Is she the next?

Is it her you love after me?
What have I done?
I only wanted thee
I swear - not for fun

Unexpectedly, you came
And sought out love
We want the same
I am an open door

We align too well
Please believe me
Our hearts will swell
It’s meant to be

Perhaps in another world
You’ll send me a glance
And this won’t be a swirl
Oh, I beg for a chance…
