40 Years 2006
40 Years 2006
I went to a dance one night
in the Fall of ‘64
and danced with your friend for awhile
and than I saw you at first glance
with that Leslie Caron smile
we met and you spoke of Colombia
your native land then I took your hand
and we danced on and on
for many suns and many moons
children came in days of wine and brine
and here I am a vintage Ralph
so much for wear
who still loves you and will always care
and life has shown as we continue to fill
the time we have left living on the edge
to celebrate that occasional thread
of luck of money or joy
and that makes everything right
for who knows what occurs on the morrow
to wait for that chance
to dance again
