Let’s all learn the 2-D shapes
2-D shapes, 2-D shapes
Let’s all learn the 2-D shapes
They have width and length.

2-D shapes are flat and thin
Flat and thin, flat and thin
2-D shapes are flat and thin
On papers…we can draw.

Let’s all learn the 3-D shapes
3-D shapes, 3-D shapes
Let’s all learn the 3-D shapes
With length, width and height.

3-D shapes are fat and thick
Fat and thick, fat and thick
3-D shapes are fat and thick 
They can stand and roll.

-Sharing with you the action song I’ve scribbled for my students in the lower grade (Gr3) to help them remember the 2D and 3D shapes. It’s in tune of Mary Had A Little Lamp. My students enjoyed and loved singing with the melody along with the gestures I taught. (ex. flat - clapping and thin -gesturing on hands or fingers. Hope your kids will love it.
