2 Poems: Explanation, Why Threaten
EXPLANATION
Let me introduce myself to you once more
so we may speak the same language
and not be utterly confused
in the shades of our lips.
I do not mean what you say I mean
even if you have to trace
the genealogy of my words
through the warm blood in their veins.
Don't mistake them for same faces
that sometimes stream from your lips
when your heart is in belligerent mood.
My love for you hasn't waned a bit
as to fire potshots on your open heart
to provoke a war to cover my escape
from a fragrant promise I still contain.
I do sincerely promote your good
for it's the vessel of my own good.
WHY THREATEN
Why threaten to leave?
have I not offered you a burning love
as a holocaust before your feet?
I breath, and drink and eat your love
so if ever there is a new leaf, a bud, a flower
in my growing person
it could only be because
I love and am loved.
If it's different that when I loved another
it could only be because you're different.
You did not leave before.
my warm embrace
is not a prison bar
for you can always fly
to your stars unrestrained
by the heaviness of my blanket.
Perhaps you're getting bored
Of the sight of your own love's fruit.
