2021-Coming of Age
By Franklin Price
12/31/2021
This year is twenty twenty-one.
This day will be its last.
As for me, don't know 'bout you,
I'll be glad when it has passed.
This year the world has come of age,
Year and century twenty-one,
With power change and covid,
It hasn't been a lot of fun.
Politicos know everything,
We the People thrown aside.
They swore they followed science,
And they took us for a ride.
They pointed fingers everywhere,
Except back in their face.
I think, how this year is ending,
For the world, is a disgrace
Twenty–two's tomorrow,
Another day, another year.
We the people, have the last word,
Our founding fathers made that clear.
We should stand up and be counted,
Raise our torches and be free,
The president is not the king,
And Washington not royalty.
Government is not the who we are.
Who they are is what we say.
Tomorrow's twenty twenty-two,
This misconception cannot stay.
Happy New Year everyone
If we don't come out and play
When twenty-two, ends in a year,
We won't be the U.S.A.
