2020 Vision

Here’s my 2020 vision: Nothing much will change. Yet, like every new year I feel hopeful, which is strange. All the talk of starting fresh, The so-called wiped-clean slate, For most is like a huge balloon Just waiting to deflate. The resolutions that we vow This time will really stick Will probably not last a month, Or fizzle much more quick. Still, there’s a chance determination Might just persevere For in 2020, vision Should be smooth and crystal-clear.

The Second Verse could be the Senate's motto; well said, indeed! Like Jan, I have never made a NY resolution as it is best to be prepared for anything. Looking forward to reading more of your poetry in 2020! Aloha! Rico

Many thanks for reading my poem on the bay leaf, a herb I use all the time in soups, stews, sauces, etc. No, it's not poisonous, but there are kinds that are; these are not in the family of bays used exclusively for cooking. Yes, they can be dangerous if swallowed because in cooking they become very brittle, so remove them immediately after use. Will get back to your poems later. / M

LOL. The best resolution is to stop making them. Living one day at a time with purpose and being true to yourself and your fellow man works. We all know How procrastination works. People jump ship fast. Their own!
