18 and 21

I'm passed the age where I'm just gonna sit there
and not fight back
It's our own lives
it's our own mistakes
at least I'm fixing it now
and not turning into you
because I know that's my inherited path

You've never been there
There's one that will sit there
and just say nothing with a blank stare
The other will fight you with lecture after lecture
as if a few drunken words are supposed to make a difference now
and there will never be a time when they will
