1440
Dust settles
then rises slowly on the breezes of bat’s wings
Sunset fades
and midnight skies paint the water with an ebony lacquer
The Earth wakes
as artificial lights flicker and die
Edge of darkness
when will my mind start to lead me right?
The moon travels
wavering, spilling silver cream into the sky
The night slinks
across city skylines
A dull grey
replaces the darkness
Eyes open
close, open, close, blink, sigh
Shaky morning fog
spreads dawn among clouds of mist
Echos
of human shells
Bright metal
to piece the pinkness of a grey morning
Full cycle
until the sun
Until the sun yawns above the horizon.
