14-3-2

When my father died
I was not there,
I thought it was a dream,
And one day soon
I would awake,
And I would see my father
Eating breakfast before work.

When my father died
I made my own excuse.
I thought he worked for MI5
And he'd had to go and hide,
He'd had to leave us all,
But one day would return
When it was safe again.

When my father died
My soul felt numb.
Would he be ashamed to know
I never cried?
I guess I never faced the fact
That when my father died,
My father died.

Yes remembering they are not with us in flesh is very painfull. We can dream and see them again in our memory. Light & Love
