12 Steps Forward Up and Up

For those unfortunate Enough out there Living amongst us Who suffer in the grips Of our so many human forms Of the debilitating sickness of addiction I have always wondered Are the numbers so high In regards to those who follow their calling To become the keepers of the faith Is that why when it comes to Rehabilitation and following The 12 step program When it comes to God They refer to and say A God of your own choice and belief Whomever that may well be As your Higher Power Far greater than you And is why I question and ask Have they indeed forsaken or lost their faith Or has their God indeed forsaken them Because the sheer volume of numbers Say's one thing or the other As the simple fact of the case and matter Is he hasn't helped them thus far from ending up where they are In the same place as all the other non - believers It would and sadly does appear Praying for a Higher Power To just step in and offer Some much needed and requainte help
