at once i thought
i loved another
but then you bought
my heart to smother.
and now i know
i've fallen hard
just like the snow
in my front yard.
you're cute and shy,
and funny and tall.
when you're near by,
i take in all.
but i'm not sure
of how you're feeling,
it's like a blur,
but i'm not healing.
and if you choose
to like me not,
my heart will bruise,
and hurt a lot.
but that's okay,
i'll understand
that i was way
in over my head.
so rest in peace,
i will heal soon.
my heart's a beast
that's not immune.
but now my heart
is used to pain,
heartbreak's not art,
and not a game.
