Just because we have experienced Chaos and Heartbreak as "Normal", doesn't mean it's Good. Love shouldn't give you Stress, Anxiety, Pain, Emotional Upheaval or Confusion. Love should feel like Calm, Peace, Happiness, Joy, Safety, and Home. The relationships I deserve By Michelle Morris 30/06/2025 I reached out to you Your Chaos felt like Home Memories of my Childhood The Pain I'd always Known Reaching in the Darkness That Box of Blight and Trauma My Soul saw it in your Soul The Memories that haunt us Your dismissal of my Feelings Your rudeness and obfuscation Your outright lies and Darkness Your gaslighting and impatience Your control and dogmatic ways Your refusal to be accountable Your unacceptance of responsibility Your unstable moods and doubting My Kindness taken for granted My Love and Light being shamed My Beautiful Heart left broken My Mind and Soul seeking Space The Space and Time I needed To get away and get a grip Introspection and Soul Healing It was an unpleasant kind of trip Because all the Darkness you showed me Reminded me that I needed to cut ties Create stronger Boundaries Walk away from Hurt and Lies Every Lesson that you gave me Brought me Home to my True Essence I am Powerful and Mighty I don't need your kind of Presence The relationships I deserve Are where we Love and Care and Trust There's Respect and Support and Cherishing There's Acceptance when it's Tough There's Cheering each other on And Cheering each other up Holding hands and taking Leaps of Faith There's nothing but Goodness and Love For True relationships are Real They are the Light in the Darkness They share Hopes and Dreams and Fun They share Experience as Artforms So, I took what I had learned I walked away with my head held high I retained my Grace and Dignity But left feelings of Love and Light for you to try I don't regret those Moments The Lessons and the Pain But I know that I don't need them anymore My Childhood Trauma and Wounds are bound in Chains They've been tossed into the Light They've been burned and they are done No more people like you allowed All Transmuted and Healed in Love No more hidden boxes in my Soul I am Glowing and I am Free I leave you in Love and Light And embrace my future as a Queen © Michelle Morris, 2025
