The Wise Old Owl and I
A wise old owl sat up a tree, As sage as any bird can be It was perched up very high That owl could see all pass by. Sometimes, it would sit and stare, Surveying all the wonders there It's knowledge became known to all My feathered friend, Was nobodys fool? One day, I was walking in the woods, Enjoying nature as we should Then suddenly, I thought someone had spoken to me. I looked around, but no one was there, Then I cast my eyes into the air, Then I saw it up a tree The wise old owl was analysing me. It stared at me without blinking, He knew everything I was thinking. There was no need for words, I could understand this clever bird Without making a sound And my feet planted firm on the ground It all seemed so natural to me We were sharing telepathy. We conversed for quite a while, Shared some jokes That caused a smile, Of course, we mentioned birds and bees, With decorum and ease. The wise Old Owl wanted to call it a day, I thought he was going to fly away I thanked him for his insightful thoughts And the views and lessons he taught, On that magical day. Nature fills me with delight, And as my new friend, Took to the air in flight He said goodbye with one loud HOOT. My mind went blank as I stood MUTE!
